Participant Resources

Community partnerships brings agencies together with community organizations, service providers, and family members to help prevent  the institutionalization of the participants we serve and help them maintain as independent as possible in their own homes and /or with family. Here at Valley Adult Day Health Care Center we work closely with the Department of Aging , Fresno-Madera Agency on Aging and Central Valley Regional Center to provide the best service to each participant we serve.

Department of Aging

The California Department of Aging (CDA) administers programs that serve older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long-term care facilities throughout the State. The Department administers funds allocated under the federal Older Americans Act, the Older Californians Act, and through the Medi-Cal program. The Department contracts with the network of Area Agencies on Aging, who directly manage a wide array of federal and state-funded services that help older adults find employment; support older and disabled individuals to live as independently as possible in the community; promote healthy aging and community involvement; and assist family members in their vital care giving role. CDA also contracts directly with agencies that operate the Multipurpose Senior Services Program through the Medi-Cal home and community-based waiver for the elderly, and certifies Adult Day Health Care centers for the Medi-Cal program.

Fresno Madera Agency on Aging

The Agency on Aging has been connecting older adults to information, resources, and services since 1980. We were created through a collaboration between Fresno County, Madera County, and the City of Fresno. We are one of 33 area agencies on aging in the state. The California Department of Aging has designated the area we serve, Fresno and Madera counties, as planning and service area 14.
